Royal Black Racing Trac Tires

The Royal Black Racing Trac is an ultra-high-performance summer tire for sports cars, coupes, and performance sedans, backed by a UTQG rating of 420 A A. It is aimed at drivers who run large-diameter wheels and want maximum cornering grip, high-speed stability, and a clean sidewall look at an aggressive price point.

The asymmetric tread design works in two functional zones: large, rigid outer shoulder blocks carry heavy cornering loads and improve steering response, while optimized inner drainage channels and wide circumferential grooves rapidly flush water to prevent hydroplaning on wet highways. Structurally, the internal casing is reinforced to maintain an even contact patch under high-speed lateral stress—backed by W and Y speed ratings—and most fitments carry an XL (Extra Load) rating for higher load limits at speed. To control the cabin roar typical of low-profile fitments, the tread utilizes an optimized pitch sequence to break up air resonance.

The high-grip compound is formulated specifically for warm weather performance. That is the single most important thing to understand before buying: a performance summer compound hardens as ambient temperatures fall, causing grip to drop off sharply below roughly 45°F. This is a tire for spring through fall driving in mild climates, or for a performance vehicle with a dedicated winter set. It is not a single year-round tire solution in cold regions.

Practical advice for this fitment class: large-diameter, short-sidewall tires are unforgiving of alignment defects. Have your wheel alignment checked when the set goes on—particularly on lowered vehicles or staggered setups where negative camber will quickly eat the inner shoulder. Have the set road force balanced, and rotate on schedule where the fitment permits.

Best-suited for: Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A7, Infiniti Q50.

Tire Best Features:

• UTQG 420 A A rating offering excellent wet traction and thermal resistance with strong tread life for a UHP tire.

• Asymmetric tread with rigid outer shoulder blocks for sharp steering response and lateral stability.

• Optimized inner grooves and wide circumferential channels resist hydroplaning in wet weather.

• Reinforced internal structure and XL load ratings provide high-speed stability without casing distortion.

• Tread pitch sequencing cancels road noise for a quieter cabin on low-profile wheels.

• High-grip summer compound engineered for responsive dry braking and dynamic cornering grip.
