Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D DSST ROF

The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4d DSST tire has Dunlop Self-Supporting Technology, or ROF (Run On Flat) technology. It is a performance winter tire were made specially for sedans, coupes and sport cars.  with run on flat capability from Dunlop you get both a smooth, comfortable ride and extended mobility. In addition to ROF capabilities, this tire also boasts traction on wet, slushy, dry and even on packed snow.

This tire features a tread compound derived from Dunlop's experience in Motorsports that has silica added to the mix.  This ingrediant in the tread compound improves traction, especially on wet roads or in winter climates.  This rubber is shaped into a directional tread design with long v-shaped grooves that makes it resistant to hydroplaning – perfect for great grip on wet and slushy roads.  The tread has Dunlop’s 4D Sipe System. which is extended sipes forming independent micro-blocks for better footprint pressure and distribution to improve control on snow and cornering traction. This tire meets the standards for severe snow service requirements and branded with mountain/snowflake symbol.   

It includes twin steel belts with Dunlop’s JointLess Band (JLB) of nylon to maximize the contact patch and resist tire expansion at high speeds due to centrifical force. It also has sidewall reinforcements that can temporarily support the vehicle’s weight even after losing air pressure. This enables users to drive on deflated tires up to 50 miles with speeds of up to 50 mph.

The Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D DSST ROF tire has the mountain/snowflake symbol for severe snow service.
