The Continental ContiSportContact 5P SSR has the newest technologies and racing-grade tread rubber for super high performance cars and runflat capabilities.

This racing grade tread compound has special resins that maximize traction on dry and wet roads, even under normal driving conditions. With the new carbon black and resin, this provides the rubber more flexibility for grip and rigidity for handling and performance at high speeds. The tread pattern itself is asymmetric with a continuous center rib and multiple small and interlocking tread blocks. These circumferential grooves make the water flow through the footprint making it resistant to hydroplaning. Its transverse block edges dissipate water away from the tread blocks for improved traction and grip on wet roads.

This premium summer tire has an improved internal structure featuring a rolling resistance-optimized cap and base tread. In addition, its twin steel belts with spirally wrapped polyamide made with heat-resistant synthetic aramid fiber and nylon treads enhances the ride quality by tuning the contact area’s vertical flexibility and lateral rigidity. This is all in addition to the SSR (Self Supporting Runflat) augmented sidewall that allows you to continue driving at a maximum speed of 50 MPH up to 50 miles depending on vehicle weight and road conditions.
