Continental WinterContact TS860 S SSR (Runflat) is M+S rated studless winter tire manufactured by German technology and made for various passenger vehicles, SUV’s, and crossovers. The Continental enhanced this tire with SSR system, which is a runflat technology. It is based on self-supporting reinforced sidewall, and in case of a puncture prevents the sidewall from being crushed between the rim and the road. This tire bears a three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol and fully meets all the industry severe snow service requirements. TS 860 S Runflat shows an excellent snow performance for outstanding driving pleasure, thanks to the special construction of the sipes and snow grooves that interlock with the snow and increase the traction. The central rib blocks are separated through thin lateral grooves and form a stiff rib that helps with shortening the braking distance. Wide big outside shoulder blocks increase the contact area for WinterContact TS 860 S SSR and result in larger footprint for maximum control and steering precision and exceptional cornering on dry and wintry roads. The combination of innovative compound, the construction of this Continental Runflat tire efficiently reduces the rolling resistance for higher fuel efficiency without sacrificing the safety.
